Transcription: ""Squelette d'agouti es Ste. d'un rongeur ayant la taile et le facies de l'Apérea du Bresil, qui vit dans des terriers creusés autour des vieilles souches et se nourrit de fruits principalement. l'individu qui a servi de sujet ayant eu la queue rongée en captivité par un camarade de son espèce / la queue surajoutée a été arrachée a un individu la même espèce. les deux peaux de les deux sujets sont dans la boîte en fer blanc avec les reptiles"". English translation: ""Agouti skeleton is [unclear] a rodent having the size and appearance of the Brazilian Aperea [=Brazilian guinea pig, Cavia aperea], which lives in dens dug around old tree stumps and feeds primarily on fruits. The individual who served as a subject had its tail chewed upon in captivity by a comrade of the same species / The supernumerary tail was ripped from an individual of the same species. The two skins of the two subjects are in the tinplate box with the reptiles"". Transcription and translation of French note done by Madeleine Mullon, 7 Oct 2022.
