fieldNotes IDed at the time as maxillosus, though my notes are inconclusive for reason. Now corrected to be S.similis (thanks to Jeremy Minns, WPV, BP). Observe that the common song is a 4-5 note phrase, inclusive of a string of 3 notes rising in pitch and length. This recording shows 7-note and 10-note phrases (without the 3-note string) of same quality, with a rather undulating character. Sick's description of song of maxillosus appears erroneous (see Placentini's recording here at x-c) and might have been based on a song type as represented in this recording.
