occurrenceRemarks | This plant a scrambler on shrubs growing on sandy river bank. Stems longly spreading over surrounding vegetation. Internodes grey-green, to 23 cm long, 13 mm thick, nodes producing 3.5 mm thick green roots singly or in pairs. Petiole to 25 cm long, terete, green, 8 mm thick just above sheath, narrowing to 4 mm at junction with lamina. Petiolar sheath to 5 cm long, unequal, 8 mm broad one side, 5 mm broad the other, green with white-membranous margins, apex rounded on broader side. Lamina to 26 cm long, 13 cm broad, posterior lobes curling upwards at inner margins, lamina darkish to mid-green and + shinny above, below paler and more shiny. Primary lateral nerves paler than lamina above, slightly impressed, below somewhat prominent.Costa paler green than lamina above and flattened-prominent, below prominent. Peduncle of open spathe 10 cm long, 8 mm thick, elliptical, green. Spathe green with yellow-green to white-membranous margins in apical male part, open spathe 12 cm long, 3 cm broad in male and female parts, constricted somewhat in sterile zone, closed older spathe with 12 cm long peduncle, 13 cm long, 2.3 cm thick in female part, 1.7 cm thick in male part. Decurrency of spathe 3 cm long, spathe inside mid-pink, shiny in female part very pale white-green in male part and dull. Spadix 12 cm long measured from base of decurrency, ovaries very pale green, stamens fertile and sterile creamy white. Male part of spadix 12 mm thick, female part 11 mm thick. Stigmas amber in colder spadix, sterile organs red-livid, stamens cream and blotched livid. |
