locality Flora of Brazil. Fifteenth Regnellian Expedition. Amazonas, Municipio Benjamin Constant, c. 3 km from Benjamin Constant on trail towards Cruzeiro do Sul, disturbed primary forest. Small clumps along path in primary forest, moderately drained, brownish, clayey soil. To 0,7 m total height, leaf sheath reddish, petiole green, pulvinus brownísh, ± elliptic in cross-section, leaf blade coriaceous, scalloped, somewhat greyish green beneath, midrib reddish, grass-green above, midrib pale green, peduncle reddish, bracts pale green, corolla and staminodes pure white, except cucullate staminode shading somewhat into green.
