occurrenceRemarks "Palmeira" is one common name. Palm solitary with 2-12 m * 40 cm trunk. LEAVES.ca. 20-22 in crown, spirally arranged and strongly ascending and arching at tips Leaf petiole 120 cm and a fibrous leaf sheath, adaxially channeled and abaxially rounded. Leaf rachis 487-620 cm long. 160-165 pairs of leaflets which are distributed regularly on the top or distai portion of the leaf, but clustering on the lower 1/3 to Vi of the leaf along the rachis. Basal leaflets 59-107 x 0.7-1.0 cm, middle leaflets 80-107 x 4.5-5.0 cm, and apical leaflets 30-35 x 0.3-1.0 cm. Staminate (male) INFLORESCHNCE with 38 cm long by 3.5 x 2.5 cm diam. peduncle and 63 cm long rachis. There are 225 primary branches measuring 8-9 cm long at the apex and 14 cm long at the base. Peduncular bract with a total length of 110 cm including a beak of 6 cm and the expanded or inflated part of the bract measuring 80 cm long x 22.5 cm in width and with a 28 cm perimeter and a 6 mm thickness. Female or pistillate infructescence with 40 long and 3.5 x 2.5 cm diam. peduncle. The total infloresence is 80 cm long with a rachis 65 cm. There ca. 200 primary branches measuring 8 cm long at the apex and 14 cm long at the base. Peduncular bract with a total length of 130 cm and the expanded or inflated part of the bract measuring 90 cm long x 18 cm in width and with a 22 cm perimeter and a 5 mm thickness.
