occurrenceRemarks	Plants in discrete clumps, near streams or seeps. Culms to about 1 m tall, apparently young, sprouting from the base of old dead culms that are about 2 m tall; dead culms probably killed in the Sept. 1988 fire here, so the regrowth has occurred since then. Branching intravaginal; subsidiary branches developing first, then the central branch. Culm leaves soon drying and separating from the nodes, not persistent. Older culms becoming quite bushy, evidently through rebranching of subsidiary branches. All vegetative. Treated with 70% EtOH.
