datasetName iNaturalist research-grade observations
occurrenceRemarks Family Natricidae or Colubridae, depending on your taxonomy This animal also revealed itself on snake day- we had seen almost no snakes for a couple of weeks, then saw a total of about half a dozen on the same day. Based on the snout color and head pattern I'm pretty sure this is the right id based on characters in Fraga et al. The common name for this snake, Broadhead Ground Snake, doesn't seem to match up very well with its morphology. To me it has a very coral snake shape, which is to say especially tube-like. https://www.flickr.com/photos/stoufferlsu/43823035122/in/photostream/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/stoufferlsu/43823035982/in/photostream/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/stoufferlsu/43823038622/in/photostream/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/stoufferlsu/28935254927/in/photostream/
