Apparently endemic to this region, unfortunately, so the species gain an official name, most likely already come automatically in the list of birds that are in danger of extinction because it presents a small distribution area, besides facing problems associated with forest fragmentation and loss habitat in its range.. The discovery of this new and important species was announced at great article in the journal Cotinga, in 2005, authored by friends ornithologists: Luís Fábio Silveira, Pedro Develey, José Fernando Pacheco and Bret Whitney..
