Some areas rich in herbaceous vegetation and tree seedlings. Field layer (2m.) locally dominated by Psychotria spp. Bryophytes & small epiphytic ferns common on trunks & rocks. |

occurrenceRemarks | Small shrub to 9 ft. stem to 1/2" diam. at ground level. Stems glossy olive-green, with purplish-black flushes, especially on adaxial surface & near/on nodes. Leaves dark olive-green adaxially, slightly paler abaxially, matt. Scapes, both primary & secondary, maroon on one side & lime green on the other. Base of corolla tube pinkish-orange, otherwise flower seen open on any one inflorescence. Inflorescence strongly divaricating. |
