occurrenceRemarks This butterfly was found in a Brazilian Atlantic forest reserve. It was in a mating process when it finally landed in a low hanging leaf in a part of the forest with less density of trees. The blue, with borders in red, color in the upper side of the wings contrasts with the shade of brown that lower side, and rest of the body have. The large and brightly coloured wings is a defining characteristic of this organism. It has 7 cm, 2.8 inches, of wingspan and 3 cm, 1.2 inches, of body length.
