occurrenceRemarks Tree, 4-8 m tall; leaf margins variable, dentate to entire; flowers with corolla of 5 swollen petals which are so tightly joined as to apper fused; proximally corolla white (sometimes tinted with purple), swollen tightly enclosing the androecium and gynoecium, petals individually discernable; distally corolla light green, forming a narrow tube above the androecium and gynoecium, individual petals must be separated to be discernable; fruit 3-sided, green (sometimes tinted with purple), filled with white seeds. As fruit ripens, petals turn brown, separete and fall off along with the sepals.
