locationRemarks	Date: [There has been some confusion over the collection date of this specimen. The date on Olalla's original label appears to be 20 December 1933. The last 3 in the year is smudged. Our written catalog gives the year as 1933. However, Griscom and Snyder, in their type description, give the year as 1932 and this apparent error was continued in Paynter's Brazilian Gazetteer. The smudged 3 may have caused Griscom and Snyder to believe that the bottom of the three was crossed out to make a 2. Short of knowing that Olalla corresponded directly with Griscom and Snyder about the date, I believe that it is best to list the year as 1933, based on the label, written catalog and collection dates for other specimens by Olalla. Indeed, Olalla was collecting on the Rio Tapajos in December 1932 making impossible for him to have collected at Cameta at the same time. - JRT]\|
