locality Municipio de Resende. Mt. Itatoais, planalto. Along trail a few hundred meters north of the rock, ""Prateleiras"" (The plantlo is a steep hilly terrain, many hills topped with mountainous outcrops of bare sienite quarts. Hillsides with frequent rounded outcropping quartz rock & boulders, and a vthin, black, almost pure humuas soil supporting a periodically-burned natural tussock sedge-grassland with scattered low Chusquea bamboo & occsionally other shrubs. Lowervalley sides often with Chusquea brakes, or brooks lined with a marsh of Cladium in tussocks or with ""Trunks"" of massed rhizomes.)
