occurrenceRemarks We found this snake without a head in a mist net, just laying in the sagging part of the net two or three rows up. All we could figure was that a hawk was carrying it, hit the net, and dropped the snake as it escaped.

identificationRemarks The fact that the black bands are in pairs immediately precludes this being a Micrurus. It's most likely a species of Erythrolamprus - E. aesculapii certainly occurs in the region. Fig D on p. 171 in Fraga's book shows that pattern type to some extent.
